Historical overview
The dam on which the new SHPP was installed was an element of the technical infrastructure of the now defunct Starogard Mills, situated several hundred meters downstream.
The first mentions of the Mills come from the chronicles of the Teutonic Order. At that time, it was an object propelled by one water wheel that derived its power from water flowing in the mill canal (the canal has survived to this day). However, the true renaissance of Starogard's milling had not begun until much later - namely at the end of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century. It was then that the mill was expanded and the machinery park was modernized. In the 1920s, a hydroelectric power plant was built at Młyny.
The new SHPP, equipped with an active fish pass, uses the biological flow of the damming to generate electircity.

The cooperation with the client included comprehensive implementation of the project in the turnkey formula, including: design, manufacturing, assembly and commissioning of a hydroset equipped with an Archimedes' screw that was paired with an automated control system.
